Full Narrative

From fall 2022 through summer 2024, every time I accessed Word on my computer I noticed recently reviewed documents. They were always my employment-related legal documents. This was highly unusual because I rarely accessed them since I had an attorney to represent me. On July 23, 2023, I moved all my documents from Microsoft OneDrive to my personal computer. The next day the computer crashed where I discovered in that process that my external drive stopped working in December 2022. I had no idea. I plugged my computer into the external hard drive every week, heard it syncing to the computer. The silent backup failure combined with the crash immediately after consolidating files suggested someone had been remotely accessing my privileged legal documents and sabotaged my ability to protect them. I was forced to purchase another computer.
