Within days of seeing the person I formerly had a long-term relationship with)on June 18, 2024, the service engine light came on. It had come on before so I thought nothing of it. On August 12 and 13, I traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina. The light disappeared close to my destination and remained off until I was approximately 20 miles from my home where it returned. This had never happened before. The timing and geographic pattern suggested the light was being manipulated rather than indicating an actual mechanical problem.
