In fall 2024, I borrowed an apartment leasing staff's Samsung phone to make calls as mine was compromised. I called SimpliSafe's phone number on its website to cancel my service instead of the phone number provided to me when I started service. I told the person I was going to cancel service. All of a sudden, WiFi signal jammed. I could not continue the call as I could no longer talk to the representative. I called the number again to receive a clear connection to cancel the service. The pattern was consistent—calls that threatened to expose the surveillance apparatus were jammed or redirected.
