Ottawa: Immigration Interrogation (December 2025)
I spoke to a U.S. immigration official at the Ottawa International Airport. I have spoken to U.S. immigration officials many times at airport port of entries. They ask me one question and then tell me to move on. This time? No. I was asked where I went in the past year. Who I was visiting in Canada. Why I was in Canada. If I spent 6 months in Japan. These questions were not to help the situation. These questions were to trip me up and give them information that they could log and note in their records. I had, and have, nothing to hide. I told the immigration official I used to be a Refugee Officer. She jump up in shock and then let me go. I called her out on her interrogation. It did not work. I have nothing to hide.
