Fairfax County: Beginning Hotel Surveillance (December 2025) 

A fellow hotel guest member took my photo to verify my identity.  Surveillance pattern. I had entered the small lobby where I noticed the intelligence operative. She smiled at me yet had nothing to do in that area. Unusual and obvious. I walked by her only to see her place her camera at an angle to take my photo as if a selfie. It was not. My hotel room, quiet before, was no longer. The television turned on seemlessly the day before. Today, and for the rest of my stay, the “HDMI” symbol appeared immediately after I turned on the television. Same pattern in my Portland hotel room.
