In summer 2022, prior to moving from the house the person I formerly had a long-term relationship with said he was concerned I would find a place. Said I couldn't do it; not able to. He put me down left and right. I didn't know what I was doing. Even when helping me move he continuously questioned my capability. Classic gaslighting of mental and emotional abuse. When he saw my apartment he grudgingly complimented me but not before contributing to the problems I experienced with the movers. His passive-aggressive behavior was in full view. The pattern—undermine, then feign support—was designed to erode confidence and maintain control.
