Excerpt

  • Parked near elementary school close to Lake Accotink for regular walk, this time between vehicles instead of near entrance.
  • Both odometers exactly the same when parked.
  • Returned to find less fuel and odometers no longer matched—display showed ~40 miles more.

Full Narrative

In September or October 2024, I parked near an elementary school near Lake Accotink for my regular walk. Normally I parked near the entrance, but this time I parked between vehicles. I checked both odometers before leaving—they were exactly the same. When I returned, I noticed my gas gauge had less fuel than when I left it. I checked both odometers again. They were not the same. The one on display had approximately 40 miles more than the odometer that I had to switch to. Someone had driven my car without permission and returned it, leaving only the odometer discrepancy as evidence.
